Su­san Kay Cernosek, 61, passed away Fri­day, Jan­uary 11, 2019. She was born Fe­bru­ary 11, 1957 at Heights Hos­pi­tal to par­ents, Leon & Betty Warnke Smith.

Su­san grew up in Lazy­brook. She at­tended Sin­clair El­e­men­tary, St. Theresa Catholic School, Hamil­ton Mid­dle School, and grad­u­ated from Wal­trip High School in 1975. Over the years she worked at Fo­ley’s, Handy Andy, Dr. Smith’s, Cameron Iron Works, El­e­gance in Bloom, Flow­ers & Frills, Twins De­sign, and fi­nally The Ac­ces­sory Place. She loved work­ing with beau­ti­ful flow­ers ev­ery day. Su­san’s fa­vorite pas­times were go­ing to dances, movies, work­ing in her yard, and tak­ing pic­tures. She en­joyed be­ing on Face­book and watch­ing her fa­vorite soap opera, Days of Our Lives, which she had watched since she was a child.

Su­san is sur­vived by her lov­ing hus­band, Wil­bert Cernosek, who she met while in high school at the Bill Mraz Ball­room. She is the proud mother of Melissa Ann Dob­son (Neil Dob­son), and Allen Bradley Cernosek. Su­san is the blessed grand­mother of Lu­cas John Cernosek. She is also sur­vived by her mother, Betty Smith; brother, Terry Smith; nu­mer­ous in-laws, nieces, neph­ews, cousins and friends.

Vis­i­ta­tion will be held in Hous­ton, TX on Tues­day, Jan­uary 15, 2019 from 5-8 PM at Heights Fu­neral Home, with the Rosary be­ing re­cited at 7 PM. Vis­i­ta­tion will be held in Am­mannsville, TX on Wed­nes­day, Jan­uary 16, 2019 at 9 AM at St. John the Bap­tist Catholic Church, with the Rosary be­ing re­cited by the KJZT So­ci­ety at 9:30 AM. The fu­neral ser­vice will fol­low at 10 AM. In­ter­ment will be held im­me­di­ately after at St. John the Bap­tist Catholic Ceme­tery.
