Mark Crawford Wilson passed away on Friday, the 25th of January 2019, in Houston. He was 75 years of age.

Mark descended from a long line of Texans, born in Beaumont to Alexine Crawford Wilson and Charles Brown Wilson of Clarksburg, West Virginia.

Mark is survived by his sister, Sara Wilson Carlson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his nephews, David Hjalmar Carlson and Mark Crawford Carlson, also of Tulsa; and his niece, Stephanie Carlson Brennan of Jackson Wyoming. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Wilson.

Mark attended Beaumont public schools until his high school years when he entered Culver Military Academy. At the academy, Mark was a rider in the distinguis­hed Black Horse Troop. His years and experience­s at the academy played a pivotal role in Mark’s life. Mark also attended Thunderbir­d Academy in Arizona.

While attending school in Mexico City, Mark discovered and developed his passion for the Spanish and Portuguese languages.

Mark and his family enjoyed summers together in Boulder at the Colorado Chautauqua with a close community of friends and family that continues today.

Mark was a bachelor who enjoyed a social life with many friends. His interests were diverse and varied, and included country music, photograph­y, reading, hunting and horses. His service on the New Hope Board gave him great pride and sense of purpose.

A memorial service and celebratio­n of his life is to be conducted at four o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday, the 10th of February, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, where Dr. Linda Christians will officiate.

Immediatel­y following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the adjacent grand foyer.
