Sex trafficking probe leads to man’s arrest

-

In the days leading up to Super Bowl Sunday, a sex trafficking investigation led to the arrest of a Houston man at a Stafford hotel for alleged promotion of prostitution and felony sex trafficking of a minor, according to court documents filed by the Houston Police Department.

Germaine Allen Crittenden, 44, was arrested after he allegedly posted online ads for prostitution featuring two undercover detectives, one of which the suspect reportedly believed to be 17, according to an arrest warrant filed Feb. 5.

On Thursday, Jan. 31, the suspect reportedly met with the two undercover detectives at a hotel in Stafford and recruited them to work as prostitutes for him at various clubs near U.S. 290 over the Super Bowl weekend. Crittenden reportedly told the undercover officers it would “not be a problem” for a 17-year-old to work as a prostitute in the north Houston clubs.

Crittenden is being held at the Fort Bend County Jail on a $300,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Fort Bend County Criminal Court for an arraignment hearing on March 18.
