Ionescu, Ore­gon thump Stan­ford

STAN­FORD, Calif. — Sab­rina Ionescu had 27 points, nine re­bounds and eight as­sists as thir­dranked Ore­gon ran its NCAA-best win­ning streak to 16 games by run­ning away from No. 11 Stan­ford 88-48 on Sun­day to snap a 29-game los­ing streak at Maples Pavil­ion.

Ionescu scored 17 of her points in the first half and made 12 of 20 shots as the Ducks (23-1, 12-0 Pac-12) ended the Car­di­nal’s 22game home win­ning streak. The loss was one of the worst in Hall of Fame coach Tara VanDerveer's 33 sea­sons at Stan­ford.

DiJonai Car­ring­ton led the Car­di­nal (19-4, 9-3) with 13 points.


Asia Durr scored 34 points as the se­con­dranked Car­di­nals over­came a near-col­lapse in a vic­tory over the Hok­ies at Blacks­burg, Va.

Sam Fuehring added 21 points and 13 re­bounds for Louisville (23-1, 10-1 At­lantic Coast Con­fer­ence), which won its ninth in a row. Fuehring made con­sec­u­tive driv­ing bas­kets in the fi­nal quar­ter af­ter the Hok­ies had closed to within 62-56 with un­der four min­utes to play, al­low­ing Louisville to avoid an up­set.


Arike Ogun­bowale scored 27 points and Jes­sica Shep­ard added 26 as the No. 4 Irish rolled over the 24th-ranked Semi­noles at South Bend, Ind.

Ogun­bowale, who had just 13 points on 4-of-15 shoot­ing in Thurs­day's loss at No. 25 Mi­ami, moved closer to be­com­ing the school's lead­ing scorer. She has 2,301 points. Sky­lar Dig­gers-Smith is the all-time leader at 2,357.


Teaira McCowan had 24 points and 15 re­bounds, and Jor­dan Dan­berry added 20 points as the six­thranked Bull­dogs pulled away late to beat the Lady Vols at Starkville, Miss.

Mis­sis­sippi State (22-1, 10-0 South­east­ern Con­fer­ence) won its fifth game in six tries against Ten­nessee (15-8, 4-6) af­ter fail­ing to beat the Lady Vols the first 36 times.


Kaila Charles scored 17 points as the No. 10 Ter­rap­ins ex­tended their lead in the Big Ten by beat­ing the 20th-ranked Scar­let Knights at Pis­cat­away, N.J.

Mary­land (22-2, 11-2 Big Ten) has a 1½-game lead in the con­fer­ence over Rut­gers (17-6, 9-3).

UCLA 100, UTAH 90

Kennedy Burke scored 26 points, and Michaela Onyen­were added 25 points as the Bru­ins up­set the No. 17 Utes at Salt Lake City.
