Ky. police arrest man wanted in shooting death

Kentucky authorities have arrested a man wanted in the shooting death of a woman in Channelview last fall.

Lexington police on Saturday arrested Jerry Wayne Greer outside a hotel where he was staying, the Harris County Sheriff ’s Office said.

Officials learned he was staying there and set up surveillance. Greer was arrested when he left the building.

Greer is accused of fatally shooting 29-year-old Edna McWorter on Sept. 1 at “V” Club at Market and Magnolia in Channelview.

Greer will be extradited to Harris County to face a murder charge.
