The sci-fi fantasy “Alita: Battle Angel” is leading the slowest Presidents Day weekend at the box office in almost 20 years and has a long way to go to make up its costly budget. Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Comscore.

Rosa Salazar voices Alita, a cyborg with no memory of her past. “Alita: Battle Angel” beat out rom-com “Isn’t it Romantic”and horror sequel “Happy Death Day 2U” in its first weekend in theaters.
