Quan Law Group expands office to handle rising immigration caseload
Quan Law Group has expanded to nearly 15,000 square feet on the 17th floor of 5444 Westheimer near the Galleria by leasing an additional 6,000 square feet. Former Houston City Councilman Gordon Quan launched the immigration law boutique four years ago, and the firm has since doubled to 12 lawyers and plans to hire two more this year.
“(President Donald) Trump’s immigration policies have fueled business in our litigation section,” Quan said in an announcement.
The firm, which represents businesses and individuals on a variety of immigration issues, took over the space vacated by the Houston Business Journal after it moved to another floor of the 20-story building. Dean Wilkens of Tanglewood Property Group, a subsidiary of building owner Franklin Post Oak, handled the lease. The lease extends through November 2024.
“It’s taking a greater effort to secure and maintain worker visas for immigrants these days,” Quan said. “For those workers who are here legally, we have to relitigate to enable them to stay. Meanwhile, there are more positions than Americans can fill or are willing to fill, such as home health care jobs, food service and retail jobs.”
