A pedestrian was killed Sunday night in a suspected hitand-run in north Houston, according to Houston police.

Around 10:30 p.m., a man was walking across the northbound feeder road for north Interstate 45 when he was struck by a black Chevrolet Malibu near West Mount Houston Road.

The driver didn’t stop, but a wrecker in the area followed the car to a home near Coach Road and Imperial Valley Drive, Metro Video reported.

Houston police responded to the home and found the car with heavy damage to the front. The passenger of the vehicle was detained at the residence, police said.

The victim, who is believed to have been homeless, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
