Authorities have upgraded charges against two people linked to a 2017 shooting in southwest Houston, months after the victim died.

The charges were filed Thursday against Rahari Randell, 20, and Desmond Williams, 19, both of whom remain in Harris County Jail.

The victim, 24-year-old April Lindsey, was found shot in the early morning hours of Feb. 3, 2017, on a sidewalk in the 10000 block of Bissonnet near Forum Park.

She was initially taken to Ben Taub Hospital in critical condition, while Randell and Williams were charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the shooting.

At some point, Lindsey was transferred to a hospital in Louisiana, where officials notified Houston police about her death on Sept. 27, 2018, according to Houston police spokesman Kese Smith.
