Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar picks Stafford for next neighborhood tavern
Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar has leased 8,648 square feet in The Grid, a mixed-use development at 12201 Southwest Freeway in Stafford. The restaurant, which plans to open this fall, aims to use locally sourced ingredients and has an on-site garden. Other area locations are in Katy and Baybrook Mall. Streetlevel Investments, in partnership with Provident Realty Advisors, is developing The Grid on the former Texas Instruments campus.
Eugene’s Gulf Coast Cuisine will open in the former Mockingbird Bistro space at 1985 Welch St. in late summer or early fall. Kyle Teas is relocating the former Danton’s Gulf Coast Kitchen on Montrose to the updated 4,600-square-foot space, which will incorporate historic decor from Sonny Look’s Sirloin Inn.
Mod Pizza has leased 2,822 square feet in the Bellaire Town Center at Bellaire Boulevard and South Rice Avenue in Bellaire. Brooks Shanklin and Josh Jacobs of Edge Realty Partners represented the landlord. Chris Reyes and Tyler Trevino of Shop Cos. represented the tenant.
Lynn and Nakia Price, owners of the Turkey Leg Hut on Almeda Road in the Third Ward, are planning several new ventures. The Daiquiri Hut is being built at 4830 Almeda Road, Suite B, next to the Turkey Leg Hut with plans for a summer opening. The Savoy Urban Beer Garden, at 4402 Emancipation Ave., is slated for opening for the fall. The Breakfast Hut is expected to open at 4902 Almeda by the end of 2019. The couple recently launched TLH Express, a nearby mobile food truck selling turkey legs to go.
Local Poké has leased 1,355 square feet at Market at Westchase, a center at Westheimer and Wilcrest owned by Weingarten Realty. Christi Davis with Weingarten Realty represented the landlord. Helen Hoang with Re/Max Legacy Living represented the tenant.
Salon Service Group is leasing 1,600 square feet at Baybrook Gateway, a shopping center at Interstate 45 and Bay Area Boulevard in Webster. Opening is tentatively scheduled by the end of the third quarter. Carrie Murray represented Weingarten Realty inhouse. Taylor Lovitt with Morrow Hill represented the tenant. Other tenants in the center include Cost Plus World Market, Party City, Barnes & Noble and Michaels.
An Austin investment group has acquired West Oaks Centre, a 13,454-square-foot neighborhood retail center at 2673-2699 South Texas 6 at Westheimer across from West Oaks Mall. The seller was a Houston-based limited partnership. Weitzman’s Evan Altemus in Dallas and Brett Levinson in Houston handled negotiations. Tenants include Verizon, a hair and nail salon, a dry cleaners and a massage specialist.
Sky Investment Group has leased 840 square feet at Eastgate Plaza, 211 E. Boling Highway, Wharton. Ali Webre and Jeffrey Warwick of Williamsburg Enterprises represented the landlord in-house.
Dollar Tree has leased 10,000 square feet in Klein Square, 16812 Stuebner Airline, Spring. Perry Zieben of Perry Zieben Realty represented the tenant. Ali Webre and Jeffrey Warwick of Williamsburg Enterprises represented the landlord in-house.
The Joint Chiropractic has signed two leases in the Houston area: 1,200 square feet in the 99 Cents Only-anchored center at 7116 FM 1960 in Humble, and 1,089 square feet in the Grand Morton Town Center in Katy. The landlords were represented by Lunden McGill of Baker Katz in Humble and Josh Friedlander of NewQuest Properties in Katy. Ashley Casterlin of Davis Commercial represented the tenant in both locations.
Southern Maid Donuts has leased 1,125 square feet in the Miramesa Retail Center at Fry Road and Miramesa Drive in Cypress. Jack Savery of Edge Realty Partners negotiated the lease.
