Festive nutcracker and holiday markets set to delight
Hoping to spice up that Christmas shopping this year? Houston is offering a range of festive nutcracker and holiday markets. Chances are, you’ll find something you didn’t know you were looking for.
In November, the popular Houston Ballet Nutcracker Market at NRG Center will feature more than 280 merchants from across the nation selling arts and crafts, gourmet food, and home decor. The Wells Fargo Preview party will be on Nov. 7, followed by the Saks Fifth Avenue and Macy’s Fashion shows on Nov. 8-9.
The Friendsgiving Market at Karbach Brewery will happen again in mid-November, with artists, makers, and vintage curators set up in the Biergarten.
At one of Katy’s newest holiday extravaganzas, the Festival of Trees, held at Cane Island, visitors can find custom-designed Christmas trees and wreaths, along with a large holiday gift market, live entertainment, and photos with Santa.
Flea by Night is the Saturday market at Discovery Green, which will feature midcentury modern furniture, recycled and repurposed items and collectibles, and crafts by local designers and artists.
The third annual Nassau Bay Nutcracker Market at the Gilruth Center will be the place to find art, antiques, women’s and children’s boutique clothing, garden decor, and food.
If something more alternative is your style, the Under the Radar Holiday Market will be held at Under the Radar Brewery to shop for local handmade jewelry, accessories, graphics and tees, rare vintage pieces, and vegan products.
Karbach Brewery also puts on a Christmas Story Art Market with ugly sweaters, a giftwrapping station, and a screening of the beloved film, A Christmas Story.
