Dead man left at fire station

Houston police are investigating the death of a man who was dropped off at a Houston fire station Sunday with a gunshot wound.

Investigators reported that the man was dropped off at Houston Fire Station 35 at 5535 Van Fleet St. early Sunday.

Paramedics rushed the man to Ben Taub Hospital at the Texas Medical Center where he died.

Officers said they believe the shooting happened on the 4700 block of Mallow Street — about 2.5 miles away from the fire station.

The man’s name has not been released.
