Homeowner killed by armed intruders
Burglars fatally shot a man early Wednesday inside his home near Cinco Ranch, moments after he had called authorities to report a broken window, authorities said.
Deputies with the Fort Bend County Sheriff ’s Office received a call just after midnight from the homeowner stating that someone had broken a window in the back of his home in the 6900 block of Glen Rosa Drive, according to Sheriff Troy Nehls.
The man, who has been identified as 29-year-old Brenton Estorffe, confronted the two individuals, but he was shot, Nehls said. The intruders then fled. It’s unclear if anything was stolen.
Deputies found Estorffe’s body inside the home. His wife and two small children were uninjured, Nehls said.
