Antetokounmpo powers Bucks to rout of Timberwolves
MINNEAPOLIS — Giannis Antetokounmpo had 34 points and 15 rebounds, and the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 134-106 on Monday night.
Antetokounmpo has posted a double-double in all seven games this season.
Andrew Wiggins led the Timberwolves with 25 points. Minnesota played without center Karl-Anthony Towns, who served the second game of his twogame suspension for his part in an altercation with Philadelphia big man Joel Embiid last week.
NETS 135, PELICANS 125
Kyrie Irving had 39 points and nine assists, and Brooklyn withstood Brandon Ingram’s careerhigh 40 points to defeat visiting New Orleans.
The Nets had 67 points at halftime and a 20-point lead in the third quarter, but could never get comfortable until the final minute as Ingram kept coming at them.
WIZARDS 115, PISTONS 99
Bradley Beal’s 20 points and six assists helped host Washington shake off what coach Scott Brooks called a “really bad” outing and beat depleted Detroit in a half-empty arena while ending Pistons star Andre Drummond’s 20-20 streak at three games.
Two days after losing by 22 points at home to Minnesota, the Wizards improved to 2-4 thanks to 14 points and eight rebounds from Thomas Bryant.
Drummond finished with 15 points and 24 rebounds but shot just 6of-20, going 1-of-8 in the fourth quarter as Washington pulled away.
SUNS 114, 76ERS 109
Devin Booker scored 40 points, Ricky Rubio added 21 points and 10 assists, and Phoenix beat visiting Philadelphia, the NBA’s final undefeated team.
Phoenix (5-2) is three games over .500 for the first time in more than four years. The surprising Suns are on a three-game winning streak and off to their best seven-game start since 2013.
WARRIORS 127, BLAZERS 118
Eric Paschall scored 36 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, and Golden State beat visiting Portland to snap a three-game skid.
