JOHN McCLAIN’S
NFL POWER RANKINGS
WEEK 10
New England 8-1 (Week 9 ranking: 1): After allowing 7.6 points per game, the Patriots gave up 37 to the Ravens and suffered their first loss.
New Orleans 7-1 (2): Drew Brees had three TD passes in the last game before the week off, and he could throw even more against Atlanta.
San Francisco 8-0 (4): The NFL’s last undefeated team is playing an important NFC West home game against the second-place Seahawks.
Baltimore 6-2 (5): The Ravens dealt New England its first loss. QB Lamar Jackson is an MVP candidate.
Seattle 7-2 (6): The Seahawks need to win Monday night at San Francisco to pull within one game of the 49ers.
Green Bay 7-2 (3): The Packers are coming off their worst performance against the Chargers. They attempt to rebound at home vs. Carolina.
Buffalo 6-2 (7): Of all the teams in the running for playoff spots, the Bills get less respect than any of them. Next up is a trip to Cleveland.
Houston 6-3 (11): The Texans are coming off their most complete game of the season in a win over Jacksonville as they enter their week off.
Kansas City 6-3 (6): Matt Moore engineered a home victory over Minnesota. Patrick Mahomes could return for the next game against the Titans.
Minnesota 6-3 (7): After losing a tough road game at Kansas City, the Vikings have a Sunday night game at Dallas.
Carolina 5-3 (17): Kyle Allen recovered from a bad performance in a loss to a good one in a victory over Tennessee.
Dallas 5-3 (12): The Cowboys defeated the Giants to remain in first place in the NFC East. They entertain Minnesota in a Sunday night game.
Philadelphia 5-4 (14): The Eagles have won back-to-back games going into their week off. They are a half game behind first-place Dallas.
L.A. Rams 5-3 (13): After taking the weekend off, the Rams return to action against the red-hot Steelers.
Indianapolis 5-3 (8): The Colts lost at Pittsburgh. Jacoby Brissett has a knee injury and might not play at home against Miami.
Oakland 4-4 (18): The Raiders are 1 ½ games behind Kansas City after defeating Detroit. They host the Chargers in a Thursday night game.
Pittsburgh 4-4 (22): The Steelers rallied to defeat Indianapolis at Heinz Field. They try to stay close to Baltimore with a game against the Rams.
L.A. Chargers 4-5 (23): After changing offensive coordinators, the Chargers beat the Packers. The defense was good, too.
Jacksonville 4-5 (15): The Jaguars got obliterated by the Texans in London. They may return to Nick Foles after their week off.
Tennessee 4-5 (16): The Titans hoped to have a three-game winning streak but got pounded at Carolina going into their game against the Chiefs.
Arizona 3-5-1 (19): The Cardinals have lost two consecutive games. They’ve got a good chance to earn a win on the road against lowly Tampa Bay.
Detroit 3-4-1 (20): Matthew Stafford deserves a better fate than another losing team. After getting whipped at Oakland, the Lions play Chicago.
Denver 3-6 (25): The Broncos are happy. They defeated Cleveland going into their week off. The Drew Lock era is getting closer.
Chicago 3-5 (21): The Bears lost to Philadelphia. Mitchell Trubisky continues to be a huge disappointment going into their game vs. Detroit.
Cleveland 2-6 (24): Losing by five at Denver is another example of just how bad the Browns have been.
N.Y. Giants 2-7 (26): After losing a sixth consecutive game to the Cowboys, the Giants play the Jets. They have combined for three victories.
Atlanta 1-7 (28): The Falcons are one of the league’s most disappointing teams. Coach Dan Quinn appears to be on the verge of getting fired.
Tampa Bay 2-6 (30): The Bucs allowed the Seahawks to come from behind and beat them in overtime in Seattle.
Miami 1-7 (32): The NFL’s last winless team beat the Jets. When the Dolphins play at Indianapolis, they shouldn’t expect to make it two in a row.
N.Y. Jets 1-7 (27): The Jets suffered the ultimate indignity Sunday when they knocked the Dolphins from the winless ranks by losing at Miami.
Washington 1-8 (29): Washington is the lowestscoring team in the NFC with 108 points. Dwayne Haskins doesn’t seem ready to start in the NFL.
Cincinnati 0-8 (31): The Bengals are the last winless team in the NFL. Their misfortune should continue because they host Baltimore.
