Magic hand Spurs fourth straight loss

ORLANDO, Fla. — Evan Fournier scored 26 points, including a couple of late 3-pointers, and the Orlando Magic beat San Antonio 111-109 on Friday night to hand the Spurs their fourth straight defeat.

Terrence Ross had 10 of his season-high 20 points in the fourth quarter for Orlando.

DeMar DeRozan scored 21 for the Spurs, who shot 50.6 percent from the field but gave up 64 points in the second half.

A flagrant foul call helped the Magic maintain their lead in the final seconds.

After Trey Lyles’ 3-pointer cut Orlando’s advantage to 107-106 with 18 seconds left, Aaron Gordon drew a foul on DeRozan with 13.9 seconds remaining that was upgraded to a flagrant after a replay review. Gordon made the free throws and the Magic kept the ball, enabling Nikola Vucevic to add another foul shot for a four-point edge.

LAKERS 99, KINGS 97

LeBron James sank two free throws with 5.5 seconds remaining to give Los Angeles the lead after being fouled by Harrison Barnes, and then Anthony Davis blocked Barnes’ layup attempt to tie the game as it ended.

James led with 29 points and Davis had 17 points and four blocks.

CELTICS 105, WARRIORS 100

Jayson Tatum scored 24 points, Jaylen Brown added 22 and Kemba Walker had 20 as Boston improved to 10-1 after a close win at struggling Golden State.

HORNETS 109, PISTONS 106

Malik Monk hit a 3pointer at the buzzer to give host Charlotte a victory over Detroit.

Monk finished with 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting to help the Hornets snap a four-game losing streak.

WIZARDS 137, TIMBERWOLV­ES 116

Bradley Beal scored 44 points for the second straight game and Washington snapped a threegame losing streak over short-handed Minnesota. It was the third 40-point game of the season for Beal, who has topped 30 five times in his last seven games. His 44 points came on 15-of-22 shooting.

Moritz Wagner came off the bench for Washington to add 30 points and 15 rebounds — career highs.

Minnesota’s Karl-Anthony Towns, celebratin­g his 24th birthday, led the team with 36 points.

THUNDER 127, 76ERS 119 (OT)

Danilo Gallinari scored 28 points to help host Oklahoma City outlast Philadelph­ia in overtime.

Chris Paul had 27 points for the Thunder, who had dropped three of four. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 24 points, and Terrance Ferguson finished with 19.

GRIZZLIES 107, JAZZ 106

Ja Morant scored 25 points, including the goahead basket with 1:32 remaining, Dillon Brooks added 20 points and Memphis beat Utah, spoiling the return of former Grizzlies guard Mike Conley.
