Boys
Tramon Mark, Dickinson
Notable: The University of Houston pledge scored a Texas Invitational and school-record 57 points in a 92-81 win against Cypress Creek, breaking his own records of 52 points set against Manvel last season.
What coach Jason Wilson said: “He’s such a great kid. He’s not only a great talent, but he has a great attitude on and off the court. He’s just what
you want out of a superstar on your team. He comes to work every day and works hard. Standing 6-6 and able to do multiple things with the basketball and scoring the ball effortlessly, you can’t teach that.”

Devon Achane, Fort
Bend Marshall: Achane verbally committed to Texas A&M after rushing for 228 yards and three touchdowns on 24 carries in an
area-round playoff win over A&M Consolidated.
D.J. Murchison, Atascocita: Murchison had four interceptions in a playoff win over Dickinson, one a 35-yard return for a touchdown.
Ashton Stredick, Needville: Last week’s
Athlete of the Week rushed for 419 yards and four touchdowns on 34 carries in an area-round playoff win over Boerne. He’s had 67 carries for 927 yards and nine touchdowns the last two weeks.
Girls
Da'Necia Trusty, Hastings
Notable: The junior flirted with a quadrupledouble in a 37-33 overtime win against Westside, which was fifth in the TABC rankings. She tallied 18 points, 12 blocks, eight
rebounds and seven steals.
What coach Corey
Brotherton said: “We needed a big game from Da'Necia and she did just that. What an amazing game. She stepped up and really controlled the game.”

Alexis Dacosta, Ful
shear: Last week’s Athlete of the Week was a unanimous all-tournament selection for Class 4A volleyball champion Fulshear. In the state semifinal against Kennedale, she posted a
match-high 20 kills and she followed with 19 kills and 15 digs in the final against Hereford.
Reagan Rutherford,
Ridge Point: In a five-set loss to Plano West in the 6A volleyball state semifinal, the all-tournament selection had 16 kills, 16 assists and 12 digs.
Ashlyn Svoboda, Friendswood: She was an all-tournament selection after 14 kills, 20 digs and four assists in the 5A volleyball semifinal loss to Lucas Lovejoy.
