A native of Philadelphia, and one of five sisters, Rosemary Schatzman graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a BS in Mineral Economics and received her MBA from the University of Houston.

She moved to Houston in 1985 and worked in the energy industry for over 15 years for Transco (now Williams). Rosemary and her husband, Matt, have been married for almost 28 years and they have two grown children – Mary Beth and Tom.

She feels very grateful and blessed that her family (and friends) have supported her philanthropic endeavors here in Houston over the last two decades during which time she has raised almost $12MM for numerous causes focused on children, family, and related health and human services groups. Currently, Rosemary’s energy is on helping to further the mission of the March of Dimes to reduce birth defects and infant mortality. She has volunteered for this organization since 1997 and has served on the board since 1999. Rosemary served on the Committee for launching and is one of the Founding Sponsors of Houston’s first Family Support Program in the NICU at Woman’s Hospital of Texas, is a past Board Chairman, Nominating Chairman, Special Events Chair, and has chaired major fundraising events including the 2015 Houston Chronicle Best Dressed Luncheon & Neiman Marcus Fashion Presentation and the 2011 Signature Chefs Gala – both of which broke records in terms of dollars raised.

More recently, she served as the 2019 Underwriting Chair for the Best Dressed Luncheon, which raised a record breaking $2MM. She and her family have participated in the March for Babies for 23 years – consistently ranking nationally as a top walker and top family team, raising almost $900,000 for March for Babies. She has been the recipient of the State of Texas Fundraising Award, the National Distinguished Volunteer Service Award, and Volunteer of the Year for the Texas Chapter. Rosemary entered the Best Dressed Hall of Fame in 2016 for her work in the Houston community. She has also been named a Pacesetter by the Cancer League, a 2003 ABC/Channel 13 Woman of Distinction, and a 2012 “Houston Treasure” by the Social Book, in recognition of her volunteer efforts.
