Welcome Group buys industrial complex leased to Seaboard along Texas 288
Welcome Group acquired a three-building industrial complex on 15 acres on Texas 288 near the northeast corner of the intersection with Sam Houston Parkway East. The buildings are leased to Seaboard International, a manufacturer of oil and gas pressure control equipment.
The purchase consists of 13815 South Freeway, a 49,272-squarefoot building with 10,007 square feet of office space and one acre of concrete for outside storage; 13822 H Furman Road, a 51,602square-foot manufacturing building with 10,725 square feet of office space; and 13822 J Furman Road, a 16,043-square-foot office building. The site has two acres of land for future expansion. Seaboard International is a subsidiary of Glasgow, Scotlandbased Weir Group.

Welcome Group owns 97 industrial properties in Texas totaling nearly 4.6 million square feet, with a goal to reach 5 million by the end of the year. The company owns and leases single-tenant office, distribution, lab and manufacturing facilities and also offers build-to-suit and design/build services for new properties. Ninety percent of the company’s properties are in the Houston area.
DHI, the multifamily arm of homebuilder DR Horton, purchased land at the northwest corner of Brittmore and Day roads in west Houston as the site of a four-story, 341-unit apartment complex with surface parking. Dosch Marshall Real Estate assembled three urban tracts totaling 9.8 acres for DHI after touring properties across Houston. The land, northwest of Beltway 8 and Interstate 10, was purchased from Terry Cashman, Tom Na and Risa Pippen.
