Lately: The Rockets went from a home loss against the Kings to winning both games of a road trip to Cleveland and Orlando, giving them six wins in their past eight games. The Pistons’ loss to the Mavericks in Mexico City on Thursday snapped a two-game winning streak. Scouting the Rockets: Team is 9-3 at home but lost its most recent game at Toyota Center to the Kings on Monday. … Rockets have lost six of their past 10 games against the Pistons. Rockets were separated by three points in splitting last season’s two games. … Rockets won the second game in their first two back-to-backs this season … Russell Westbrook sat out both of those games and is expected to be held out today. … James Harden is averaging 36.5 points per game at home, the most in the NBA. He averaged 38 points and 8.5 assists against the Pistons last season.

Scouting the Pistons: Pistons are 2-9 on the road, not including the loss in Mexico City in what was official a Pistons home game. … Pistons have the ninth-rated defense in the NBA, but are 19th offensivel­y. … Detroit ranks 25th in pace. … Andre Drummond, who leads the NBA in offensive, defensive and total rebounds per game, has a league-high 11 games with at least 15 points and 15 rebounds and is the only player in the top 10 in rebounds and steals. … Forward Blake Griffin was just 3 for 16, and 1 for 10 on 3-pointers against the Mavericks on Thursday, and is just 27 of 82 and 18 of 38 on 3s in his past six games. He averaged 32.5 points against the Rockets last season.

Injury report: Rockets — Center Tyson Chandler (illness) is doubtful. Guards Eric Gordon (right knee surgery), guard Gerald Green (left foot surgery) and center Nene (strained adductor) are out. Pistons — Guard Reggie Jackson (lumbar spine stress reaction) and Khyri Thomas (right foot surgery) are out.
