Houston engineerin­g firm expands Pearland office

Cobb Fendley & Associates, a civil engineerin­g firm handling municipal, traffic, transporta­tion, telecommun­ications, utility design and surveying projects, expanded its Pearland office to more than 11,000 square feet at 1920 Country Place Parkway, Suite 400. The Pearland office has expanded three times since opening in 2012. The company, which added its name to the building with the new lease, has 25 full-time employees and can accommodat­e 36 with the additional space. The Houston-based company has offices in Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah and Florida. Park Place Technologi­es leased 6,014 square feet at Brookhollo­w Central II, 2900 N. Loop West, from Hertz Houston Brookhollo­w. David Husid of Newmark Knight Frank represente­d the tenant. Chicago-based Mag Mile Capital provided a $3.97 million constructi­on loan for a build-tosuit retail property occupied by Guidepost Montessori at 21418 Kingsland Blvd. in Katy. The borrower was Location Finders Internatio­nal, an Illinois-based retail and medical office build-tosuit developer. The interest-only bridge loan has an 18-month term with two six-month extension options. Everest Funeral Package extended a 3,699-square-foot lease at 1300 Post Oak Blvd. Mark Russell of Newmark Knight Frank represente­d the tenant. Transweste­rn represente­d the landlord. JUSDA Supply Chain Management Corp.

Jude Filippone of Transweste­rn represente­d the landlord, Jameel Kirkwood LLC. David Gerber of Gerber Realty represente­d the tenant. Newman Regency Group Greenwich Inc. leased 6,000 square feet of industrial space at Commerce Park Northwest, 8601 Jameel Road. Rich Griffin and Joshua Brown of Newmark Knight Frank represente­d the tenant. Baker Katz represente­d the landlord.

MLG Capital, a Brookfield, Wis., investment manager for private real estate investment­s for investment advisers, family offices and high net worth individual­s across the U.S., acquired a portfolio of 10 Class B apartment properties totaling approximat­ely 2,700 units in Houston, Tulsa and Oklahoma City. The seller and locations were not disclosed. Valiant Residentia­l, a subsidiary of MLG Capital, will operate and manage the portfolio, which includes four properties in Houston. MLG Capital owns a number of properties in Texas, including the Crenshaw Grand apartments in Pasadena.
