Houston engineering firm expands Pearland office
Cobb Fendley & Associates, a civil engineering firm handling municipal, traffic, transportation, telecommunications, utility design and surveying projects, expanded its Pearland office to more than 11,000 square feet at 1920 Country Place Parkway, Suite 400. The Pearland office has expanded three times since opening in 2012. The company, which added its name to the building with the new lease, has 25 full-time employees and can accommodate 36 with the additional space. The Houston-based company has offices in Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah and Florida. Park Place Technologies leased 6,014 square feet at Brookhollow Central II, 2900 N. Loop West, from Hertz Houston Brookhollow. David Husid of Newmark Knight Frank represented the tenant. Chicago-based Mag Mile Capital provided a $3.97 million construction loan for a build-tosuit retail property occupied by Guidepost Montessori at 21418 Kingsland Blvd. in Katy. The borrower was Location Finders International, an Illinois-based retail and medical office build-tosuit developer. The interest-only bridge loan has an 18-month term with two six-month extension options. Everest Funeral Package extended a 3,699-square-foot lease at 1300 Post Oak Blvd. Mark Russell of Newmark Knight Frank represented the tenant. Transwestern represented the landlord. MLG Capital, a Brookfield, Wis., investment manager for private real estate investments for investment advisers, family offices and high net worth individuals across the U.S., acquired a portfolio of 10 Class B apartment properties totaling approximately 2,700 units in Houston, Tulsa and Oklahoma City. The seller and locations were not disclosed. Valiant Residential, a subsidiary of MLG Capital, will operate and manage the portfolio, which includes four properties in Houston. MLG Capital owns a number of properties in Texas, including the Crenshaw Grand apartments in Pasadena.
