Woodforest National Bank continues hometown expansion
Woodforest National Bank will mark its 40th anniversary with the opening of a branch at 895 Fish Creek Thoroughfare in Montgomery County’s Woodforest community in 2020. The facility, which will be approximately 20,000 square feet, also will house Woodforest Wealth Strategies. Founded in 1980, Houston-based Woodforest National Bank has 778 locations across the United States and will open an addition 10 locations this year. Woodforest National Bank will own the building, for which ground has not yet been broken. The Woodforest community is a development of Johnson Development Corp. north of The Woodlands with homes starting at $190,000.
The Howard Hughes Corp. announced the first retailers at its Two Lakes Edge apartment mid-rise set to open in Hughes Landing in The Woodlands this spring. StretchLab, a stretching studio, will occupy 1,519 square feet, while Row House, a rowing studio, will occupy 2,197 square feet. They will be joined by other tenants, including a restaurant, on the ground level of the 386-unit development.
Crust Pizza leased 3,500 square feet at the Plazas at Lakewood Forest, 11550 Louetta Road. Mayur Shah and Joaquin Orozco of Resolut RE represented the tenant. Mark Johnston at Glazer Properties represented the landlord.

Finer Foods leased 13,838 square feet at the northeast corner of FM 1314 and U.S. 59 in Porter. Christie Amezquita and Gunnar Holman of Shop Cos. represented the landlord, SDI Realty Advisors. Sonic Automotive Group purchased a 14,868-square-foot building on 2.27 acres at 18111 North Freeway from indiGO Auto Group, a Houston-based subsidiary of Pon Holdings of the Netherlands. David Luther and Morgan Hansen of NewQuest Properties represented the seller. The property is the former site of Porsche North Houston, which relocated to a new campus five miles north. The property is adjacent to a Sonic Automotive Group dealership. Main Squeeze Juice Co. plans to open at 6230 FM 1463 in Fulshear in early February. The store is the first of two locations to be owned and operated by franchisee Justin LeBleu. It will be the new Orleans-based chain's seventh location in the Houston market.
Smoothie King leased 1,650 square feet in Friendswood Crossing, at FM 528 and FM518, Friendswood, from NewQuest Properties. David K. Meyers of NewQuest Properties represented the landlord. Greg Slusky of Sluco Realty Services represented the tenant.
LBK Restaurants leased 2,500 square fee in Park Row Center, at 14838 Park Row Drive. Rafael Melara represented the landlord, Hunington Properties, in-house. Fernandez Holdings LP purchased 1.54 acres near Gulf Freeway along FM 1764, La Marque, from Yode Investments LLC. Brad LyBrand and Rebecca Le of NewQuest Properties represented the seller. Greg Slusky of Sluco Realty Services represented the buyer.
