Grammy fashion is all about personal style
The Grammys red carpet has a long history of self-expression. Bold, beautiful and simply outrageous looks collide on music’s biggest night.
On Sunday, celebrities followed the tradition in a big way — from Old Hollywood glamour to punk Western wear.
Ariana Grande brought her pop-princess cuteness, arriving in a dusty-blue Giambattista Valli tulle gown that spanned 20 feet in diameter, Christian Louboutins, matching gloves and her signature ponytail. The petite pop star was up for five awards, including album of the year.
Also looking glamorous was Houston native Lizzo in a white, strapless Versace Atelier gown with a sweetheart neckline, feather stole and $2 million worth of Lorraine Schwartz diamonds. She could have been channeling her musical hero, Diana Ross.
Billie Eilish, who was nominated for six Grammys, captured attention in a custom silky greenand-black Gucci pantsuit and today’s latest fashion accessory, a face mask. Her dark hair was accented with neon-green roots. She wore black, gem-studded fingerless gloves with brightemerald nails traced with

chartreuse.
Speaking of green, it’s been 20 years since Jennifer Lopez’s green Versace Grammy dress with plunging cleavage went viral.
Other celebrities arrived hoping to give Lopez’s dress a run for the money with the plungingcleavage look. Priyanka Chopra Jonas wore an ivory, bell-sleeved Ralph & Russo gown that dipped dramatically low, showing her cleavage and belly ring. She wore Kobe Bryant’s jersey number, 24, on one of her nails, while husband Nick Jonas wore a purple ribbon on the lapel of his suit to honor the NBA legend who was killed in a helicopter crash with his 13-year-old daughter earlier Sunday.
Versace is a brand well suited for the Grammys. Prime example: Lil Nas X’s hot-pink, cowboyinspired bondage look was from Versace. Diplo and Orville Peck in Dior were also sowing their Western oats.
FKA Twigs showed she’s not afraid of taking chances. She arrived in a hooded black-andpink Baroque gown designed by a friend. H.E.R. rocked pastelcolored eyewear with her colorful hippy kimono. Maggie Rogers took a tamer approach than her peers in vintage Chanel.
Camila Cabello played up her glam style in a black strapless gown with an enormous petticoat. Social media was abuzz over the fact that she and beau Shawn Mendes, wearing a cranberry Louis Vuitton suit and boots, did not walk the red carpet together.
John Legend looked cool as a cucumber in an Alexander McQueen suit with a half-short, half-long jacket. His wife, Chrissy Teigen, wore a bright-orange, plunging gown by Yanina Couture.
Esperanza Spalding was among the best dressed in a green, yellow and pink floral jumpsuit emblazoned with the words “Life Force.” It was just another of the looks that brought the Grammys red carpet to life.
