No. 3 Kansas rolls in tuneup for clash with No. 1 Baylor

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Devon Dotson hit six 3-pointers and scored 29 points, five Kansas players hit double-figures scoring, and the third-ranked Jayhawks rolled to a 91-71 victory over Iowa State on Monday night.

Ochai Agbaji added 14 points, Udoka Azubuike and Christian Braun scored 13 apiece, and David McCormack scored 10 for the Jayhawks (23-3, 12-1 Big 12) ahead of their monumental rematch with No. 1 Baylor. Kansas has not lost since the Bears beat them at Allen Fieldhouse in mid-January.

Baylor (23-1, 12-0) visits Oklahoma on Tuesday night before getting the Jayhawks at the Ferrell Center on Saturday.

Prentiss Nixon scored 20 points, and Matt Jacobson added 13 for the Cyclones (11-15, 4-9).

PRAIRIE VIEW A&M 70 JACKSON ST. 61

Gerard Andrus scored 19 points, Chancellor Ellis added 15, and the Panthers defeated the visiting Tigers to improve to 14-11 overall and 10-2 in the Southweste­rn Athletic Conference.

The contest was marred when a postgame brawl broke out between the teams. Security and coaches had to rush onto the court to separate the players.

Women TEXAS 50, WEST VIRGINIA 44

Charli Collier had 11 points and 15 rebounds, Sug Sutton added 10 points, and the Longhorns held off the Mountainee­rs in Austin to end a two-game losing streak.

Sutton added three steals for Texas (16-9, 8-5), which won despite shooting just 36.4 percent.

Kari Niblack had 16 points and three blocked shots to lead West Virginia (15-9, 5-8).

SOUTH CAROLINA 95 VANDERBILT 44

Freshman Aliyah Boston had 12 points and 14 rebounds, and the No. 1 Gamecocks used their relentless defense for a big run in the first quarter en route to defeating the visiting Commodores for their 19th straight win.

LeLe Grissett had 14 points to lead South Carolina (25-1, 12-0 Southeaste­rn Conference). Tyasha Harris and Destanni Henderson each had 12 points to help South Carolina take control with a swarming defense that triggered its fast-paced attack.

UCLA 83, OREGON ST. 74

Charisma Osborne scored 22 points, including seven in overtime, and the No. 8 Bruins rallied to beat the 15th-ranked Beavers in Los Angeles.

Japreece Dean added 22 points and 12 assists, and Michaela Onyenwere had 16 points and 11 rebounds for UCLA (22-3, 11-3 Pac-12). The Bruins overcame a 14-point deficit in the third quarter.

Mikayla Pivec had 19 points and nine rebounds before fouling out with 3:42 left in overtime for Oregon State (19-7, 7-7), which has dropped three in a row.

TEXAS SOUTHERN 85 GRAMBLING ST. 62

Niya Mitchell, Ciani Cryor and Richelle Velez all scored 22 points, lifting Texas Southern to a victory over Grambling State at H&PE Arena. Mitchell added 13 rebounds.

Ataiya Bridges had four of the 12 steals for TSU (13-9, 8-3 Southweste­rn Athletic Conference).

PRAIRIE VIEW A&M 62 JACKSON ST. 52

Diana Rosenthal and Bernesha Peters had 13 points apiece, and the Panthers ended the visiting Tigers’ 13-game winning streak. Prairie View A&M improved to 10-4 overall and 7-5 in the Southweste­rn Athletic Conference.
