LINEBACKERS
BIG TICKET PLAYERS Cory Littleton, Rams
Versatile four-down contributor who excels in pass coverage.
Joe Schobert, Browns
Intelligent, instinctive and ultra-productive in all phases of the game. Downside to Schobert is occasional missed tackles while aiming for the huge hit.
SOLID VALUES Blake Martinez, Packers
Ultra-productive box tackler, but too often he’s absorbing the hit instead of delivering a punishing tackle.
Nick Kwiatkoski, Bears
Former backup should do well in second wave of free agency as he was an upgrade when Danny Trevathan hurt his elbow.
De’Vondre Campbell, Falcons
Working in tandem with standout Deion Jones, Campbell never lived up to high expectations in Atlanta. Athleticism boosts value.
OTHERS TO WATCH
Danny Trevathan, Bears; Alec Ogletree, Giants; Nick Vigil, Bengals
TEXANS’ NEEDS
Low priority position. The Texans are well-stocked at inside linebacker with Pro Bowl alternate Zach Cunnningham emerging as arguably the best healthy player on the defense. Working alongside big former Pro Bowl selection Benardrick McKinney, who’s coming off arthroscopic ankle surgery, Cunningham led the team in tackles. The Texans are expected to retain Dylan Cole, who’s coming off a torn ACL, and Tyrell Adams, who flashed when called upon to play in the base defense. Peter Kalambayi is primarily a special teams contributor, but can fill in on defense when needed.
