QUARTERBACKS
BIG TICKET PLAYERS Tom Brady, Patriots
The football world watches as former NFL and Super Bowl Most Valuable Player contemplates his future. Although sentiment favors staying with the Patriots after all those Super Bowl victories, will Brady instead depart and strike out on his own. Las Vegas (Raiders) and Los Angeles (Chargers) are potential destinations. The Buccaneers and Colts are also possible links.
Dak Prescott, Cowboys
Accurate and mobile, Prescott and the Cowboys are a strong partnership. He will either play under a new deal for them or under the franchise player designation.
Drew Brees, Saints
Prolific, seemingly ageless franchise legend isn’t going anywhere.
SOLID VALUES Teddy Bridgewater, Saints
Smooth player who has overcome gruesome injury and is extremely effective when called upon. Buccaneers could be his destination.
Philip Rivers, Chargers
Older pocket passer has experience, toughness, accuracy and strong arm working in his favor. Colts look like a strong fit.
Jameis Winston, Buccaneers
Erratic and streaky, but has cannon of an arm and a lot of untapped potential.
OTHERS TO WATCH
Case Keenum, Washington; Josh McCown, Eagles; Marcus Mariota, Titans
TEXANS’ NEEDS
Moderate. Backup quarterback A.J. McCarron is a free agent, but fit in well last season. If he isn’t re-signed, the Texans would need a replacement. There’s been some discussion about Roughnecks quarterback P.J. Walker. The Texans have third quarterback Alex McGough under contract on a reservefuture deal.
