Motorcyclist dies after crash with pickup

A young father of a 2-year-old was killed when a pickup driver pulled in front of his motorcycle in Baytown late Wednesday night, authorities said.

The motorcyclist was riding along West Baker Street after making a trip to the grocery store around 11:30 p.m., according to police. The pickup driver was attempting to turn north onto Hemlock Drive, across the lanes of traffic where the motorcyclist was riding.

Police detained the pickup driver, although it is unclear if he will face any charges.

The motorcyclist’s identity was not released.
