Popular pool will shut down for rest of 2020

The swimming pool season in The Woodlands Township took another hit on Wednesday as officials announced the closure of the Harper’s Landing community swimming pool for the rest of the year.

The pool, one of seven opened June 6, could not be maintained. The shuttering of the popular pool comes after two other community swimming pools were temporarily closed when staff members tested positive for COVID-19.

Officials stressed no lifeguards or staff at the Harper’s Landing pool had tested positive for the coronavirus, but related challenges had affected pool operations.
