It’s bon appetit at The Buckingham — No matter the situation

-

The team at The Buckingham senior living community has worked tirelessly in recent months to ensure the disruption from this pandemic is as minimal as possible.

This includes adapting its celebrated dining service, where social gatherings in the Windsor dining room or The Rosewood Grill have been replaced by a more personalized door-to-door experience.

“We’re creating videos with our executive chef, James Coughlin, on items from our menu to show how they’re prepared; they’ll then appear on our menu a week or so later,” said director of lifestyles Pam Ortiz, adding they’ve also incorporated themed happy hours that offer drinks and hors d’oeuvres delivered on decorated dining carts.

In an effort to provide even more options for residents, the community is also in discussions to collaborate with popular local restaurants in the near future, like Houston staple Brennan’s.

“The goal is to create an unbeatable dining experience, even though there’s a need for residents to be more isolated,” said Ortiz. “We anticipate residents would order from a prefixed menu and it would be delivered right to the community.”
