Astros (21-19) update: After dropping four in a row to the Angels, the Astros are 6-9 against the Padres, Angels, A’s and Rangers since Aug. 21. … Garcia, who made his major league debut Friday when Lance McCullers Jr. wasn’t able to complete the first inning, gets his first big league start Wednesday against the division leaders. … Kyle Tucker is 8-for-18 during a five-game hitting streak with two homers, two doubles and eight RBIs. … Aledmys Diaz’s homer Sunday was his second in as many games in his sixth start since returning from the injured list. … Outfielder Josh Reddick’s availability Monday is in question after he suffered a right elbow contusion when he hit the wall at Angel Stadium on Sunday trying to track down a fly ball. A’s (23-14) update: The West Division leaders have lost four of their last six, including two in a three-game series against the Padres, their first action since an Aug. 30 postponement at Houston and a Sept. 1-3 postponement because of a positive COVID-19 test. … The Astros will be the designated home team during the first game of Tuesday’s doubleheader to make up for the Aug. 30 game.
