Lawfirm prepares for move to Texas Tower
Vinson & Elkins has selected Savills to provide project management services for the relocation of its headquarters to Texas Tower in 2022. The international law firm, which has more than 300 attorneys in Houston, will occupy the top seven floors of the 47-story tower, which is being developed by Hines at 845 Texas Ave. Ed Bowerman, a corporate managing director in Savills Project Management Practice Group, will oversee design and construction and collaborate with consultants on the project.
“We are planning a strategic and innovative build-out that will accommodate the firm’s current business objectives and the future workplace standards required for a modern, post-COVID-19 office,” Bowerman said in an announcement. “The location in the heart of the central business district, and in one of Texas’ premiere new office buildings, will give Vinson & Elkins strategic advantages to enhance its global presence and continue its growth.”
Savills has completed projects for companies throughout the Sunbelt, including its own relocation to a 13,000-square-foot office at 609 Main St.
HeliosWater Technologies leased 6,918 square feet in Lyric Centre, at 440 Louisiana in downtown Houston. Newmark represented the tenant. Capital Realty Group-Texas represented the landlord, The Lyric Centre LLC.
Wan Bridge purchased land in Galveston’s Bayside atWaterman’s community for the development of Palm Bay Galveston, a neighborhood of 94 rental houses. The project, located in the 4500 block of Stewart Road near Lake Como, will also contain 20 condominiums. High Ridge LLC, owned by Jerry LeBlanc, sold two tracts, totaling 22 acres, toWan Bridge, which will offer the first houses for lease in summer of 2021.
Modern Chemical leased 18,573 square feet of industrial space at 1103 East Airtex in
Airtex Business Park, a development of Houston-based Adkisson Group in north Houston. Jon Silberman of NAI Partners represented the tenant. Travis Land of NAI Partners represented the landlord.
Salon Naturale purchased a 0.6-acre development site at 2924W. Walker St., League City, from JMK5 Holdings. Ronnie

Indianapolis-based Herman & Kittle Properties announced the opening of The Vireo, a 264-unit apartment community at 12212 Tidwell Road, just east of John Ralston Road, in northeast Houston. The $38.5 million project contains a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments.
Atlanta-based Wood Partners opened AltaWashington, a seven-story apartment midrise at 6400Washington Ave. near Memorial Park. Developed in partnership with Principal Real Estate Investors, the property has 204 units comprised of oneand two-bedroom apartments and six three-story townhouses.
C.I.A. Services, a management company serving community associations in the Houston and San Antonio areas, broke ground on a regional headquarters at 18333 Timber Forest Drive in Humble. O’Donnell/Snider Construction will build the 15,000-square-foot office building, which was designed by Tramonte Design Studio.
Abid Turk leased 2,545 square feet at 6 Uvalde for five years. Julian Kwok represented the landlord, Hartman Income REIT.
