Cowboys player has COVID

A player on Dallas’ 53man roster has tested positive for the coronaviru­s and won’t be available Sunday against the New York Giants, a source said. The team altered its Friday schedule in response, holding virtual meetings without any on-field activities. Coach Mike McCarthy said that players were instructed to stay home.

The team moved safety Darian Thompson and defensive tackle Justin Hamilton to the reserve/ COVID list on on Friday.

The team expects to hold a practice on Saturday prior to its flight that afternoon.

Chargers have 6 starters out

The Los Angeles Chargers will be without six starters, including both of their Pro Bowl selections, for Sunday’s season finale at Kansas City.

Wide receiver Keenan Allen has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Allen, who is tied for fifth in the league with 100 receptions, missed last week’s game against Denver due to a hamstring injury he suffered in the Dec. 13 game against Atlanta. Tight end Hunter Henry will miss his second straight game as he remains on the COVID-19 list.

Defensive end Joey Bosa is out for the second

straight week due to a concussion and shin injury.

Offensive tackle Bryan Bulaga (foot), cornerback Casey Hayward Jr. (hamstring) and safety Rayshawn Jenkins (foot) have also been ruled out along with reserve linebacker Malik Jefferson (shoulder).

Saints’ Kamara tests positive

New Orleans Saints standout running back

Alvin Kamara tested positive for the coronaviru­s, a person familiar with the result confirmed Friday.

Kamara faces an isolation period of at least 10 days under the protocols. He will miss the Saints' regular season finale Sunday at Carolina and possibly the first round of the playoffs.

The Saints announced they had placed Kamara on their COVID-19 reserve list.

Packers lose OT Bakhtiari

Green Bay Packers offensive tackle David Bakhtiari will miss the rest of the season after the three-time Pro Bowl selection injured his knee in practice.

Packers coach Matt LaFleur confirmed the severity of the injury. The injury comes six weeks after the left tackle agreed to t a four-year contract worth up to $105.5 million.

Falcons’ Jones done for season

Atlanta wide receiver Julio Jones was declared out of the regular-season finale by the team .

The Falcons (4-11) are set to play the Buccaneers (10-5) on Sunday in Tampa, Fla. Jones, a seven-time Pro Bowl player, has been battling a hamstring injury.

Odds and ends

Giants offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielm­o has tested positive for the coronaviru­s, the team announced. … Browns chief of staff Callie Brownson will fill in for wide receivers coach Chad O’Shea on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers as O’Shea is out due to protocols. This will be the second time Brownson has been called on by coach Kevin Stefanski.
