Pair charged in deadly shooting of 19-year-old
Deputies have arrested two teens accused of killing another during a shootout Saturday over a botched marijuana deal, according to police and court records.
Jayland Womack and Kevin Briscoe, both 18, were charged Sunday with murder in the death of Devin Wood, court records show. Wood, 19, stumbled into his parents’ home after being shot around 2 p.m. in the 16000 block of Coco Shores in northeast Harris County. He was then rushed to a hospital, where he died.
The suspected shooters were later dropped off at a hospital with gunshot wounds. Deputies detained them and determined they were linked to Wood’s death.
The accused teens denied that they were responsible for Wood’s death and attempted to blame a supposed driveby shooter, prosecutors outlined in a motion requesting a $200,000 bond for both men. They were each ordered held on a $35,000 bond.
