Willem Timmermans passed away inWassenaa­r, The Netherland­s, on 18 December. He is survived by his wifeMieke Timmermans, his children Jeroen Timmermans (Silje Timmermans) and Marijn Timmermans Boland (Jim Boland) and his grandchild­ren Femke, Amanda, Martin and Rikke. In 1975 he and his young family moved to Houston where he initially worked for RJ Brown & Associates. In 1984, Willem and three partners founded Intec Engineerin­g Inc, a provider of engineerin­g services to the offshore industry, which he served as President until his retirement in 2003. During the years he lived in Houston, Willem often could be found on his sailboat on Galveston

Bay either cruising to Redfish Island or racing in the PHRF competitio­n. After retiring, Willem andMieke moved to the south of France where Willem continued his love for sailing on the-Mediterran­ean. Their house in Fayence was often visited by family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Due to Covid restrictio­ns in the Netherland­s, the funeral has taken place within the circle of close family.
