Kanau Sushi opens inMidtown’s Drewery Place
Kanau Sushi opened in Drewery Place, a 27-story apartment tower developed by Melbourne, Australia-based Caydon at 2850 Fannin in Midtown. Executive chef Mike Lim and partners Vinh Nguyen, Harry Nguyen and Tony Le offer contemporary Japanese cuisine with experiential table side preparations.
“Houston is one of the most diverse cities in the U.S. with an array of restaurants and bars,” said Joe Russo, managing principal of Caydon. “We strategically wanted to bring an elevated restaurant experience to Drewery Place that would appeal to the global audience walking through Midtown.”
Other retail tenants at Drewery Place include Black Swan Yoga and Earthcraft Juicery.
Northern Tool + Equipment will open a 22,000square-foot store at 18780 U.S. 59 in Humble in late January. The store, which will create nearly 20 jobs, will be the chain’s ninth in the Houston market. The retailer sells brand name tools and equipment, including Stihl, Milwaukee and Honda, and offers a parts, service and repair department.
Goldfish Swim School
signed a two-unit franchise agreement with Kevin Coffman and Ryan Moon, operators of the Urban Air franchise in Webster. They plan to open their first Goldfish Swim School at 20251 Gulf Freeway alongside an Urban Air indoor adventure park and a D-BAT
baseball and softball training center in late 2021. Based in Troy, Mich., Goldfish has locations in Katy, west Houston and Sugar Land.
Hotworx leased a 1,760square-foot 24-hour fitness studio in Pearland Parkway Marketplace, a development of Gulf Coast Commercial Group at 2110 Pearland Parkway in Pearland. Opening is planned in summer 2021. Jonathan Hill and Jet Leon

Briggs of Missouri City Properties purchased a 2,219square-foot building at 9540
Texas 6, Missouri City, and a 2,150-square-foot building at 9046 FM 1960 Bypass W., Humble. Andrew Alvis of NewQuest Properties represented the seller, Turbo Restaurant Management. Both buildings are vacant. Tyson Walker of BWB Advisors represented the buyer.
Golftec opened an instruction and club fitting center in at 20031 Katy Freeway, Katy. The 2,400square-foot facility has four
teaching/practice bays and a putting green. Center Manager Alex Perez will oversee operations.
Dental X-Ray renewed its lease at Westwood Village Shopping Center, 9615 Southwest Freeway. Eric Broussard and Benny Nguyen of Resolut RE represented the landlord.
