JACK EDWARD RAY

1928-2020

Jack Edward Ray, 92, went to be with the Lord on December 23, 2020. Beloved husband of Diane Nelson Ray for 44 years. He was blessed with 6 children, 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Jack lived an exciting life that seemed like many lifetimes. First starting in Hope, Arkansas picking watermelon as a kid, high school football star and dance contest winner, world champion duck and goose caller and sports show emcee. Entrepreneur, gambler and legendary restauranteur, and towards the end, holding court in front of Starbucks with dear old buddies, smoking a cigar.

Jack had a tremendous heart and love for all people and a very positive attitude about life and the endless possibilities the Lord could open through any circumstance.

He will be greatly missed and will be honored through a memorial service at the Sanctuary of Second Baptist Church, 6400Woodway Dr., on January 7th at 1:00 pm. To watch a livestream of the service please visit www.second.org/liveevents
