In Tracy Smith’s first season as coordinator, Ka’imi Fairbairn led the team with 118 points, including 27 of 31 field goals. He missed three extra points. His kickoffs were consistently in the end zone. Bryan Anger punted 54 times, and only 19 were returned. He had a 46.4-yard gross average and a 41.8 net. He put 19 inside the 20. The return teams were average — 20.1 yards on kickoffs and 7.9 on punts. Kickoff coverage limited opponents to 20.7 yards. Punt coverage was excellent with 6.7 yards.
