Sam Houston meet begins

Live racing returns to Sam Houston Race Park tonight with 10 scheduled races.

There have been significant changes this season. The track’s stakes program has been increased to $2.4 million. There are 46 race dates through April 3 and spectators are allowed. Sam Houston is set to run Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and will add Wednesday cards beginning Feb. 10. First post will be 6:45 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 4 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday.
