Races for mayor, city council up for vote May 1

Pasadena city voters will decide races for mayor and city council on May 1.

As Mayor Jeff Wagner’s four-year term nears an end, so do the two-year terms of all the council’s eight members. And term limits mean that two veteran council members, Bruce Leamon and Cody Ray Wheeler, will not be eligible to see re-election.

People who wish to file for a slot on the May ballot can do so starting Jan. 13. The applications can be found on the city’s website.

Would-be candidates have until 5 p.m. Feb. 12 to file.

Residents looking to get a mail-in ballot have until April 20 to apply. Early voting will be held April 19 through April 27.
