Man found shot to death; footage shows car linked

A man was found shot dead in what the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said was a drive-by shooting Monday afternoon west of Houston.

Deputies responded to reports of shots fired around 12:10 p.m. at a strip mall in the 13100 block of Bissonnet Street near Synott Road, said Sgt. Ben Beal.

Security camera footage showed a black fourdoor sedan pulled into the parking lot and the victim, who has not yet been identified to the public, got out of the car, said Beal.

The man began to run as he exited the car, Beal said, and a passenger in the same car began shooting at him. The victim was found dead a short distance away.

The killing appears to be related to narcotics, the sergeant said.
