JAMES WILSON COOK

1952-2021

James Wilson Cook was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 13, 1952. He was the second oldest in a big family, with two brothers and five sisters. Their names are Tom, Robert, Linda, Tamara, Cynthia, Christine, and Dorothy. The Cook family moved around a lot and had homes in Michigan, Virginia, North Carolina, and finally, Texas. Jim attended Robert E. Lee high school and was a member of the rifle team in the ROTC. In 1972, he married Patricia Touchy.

Mr. Cook had many jobs over his long life including paperboy, home builder, purchasing manager, abstracter, and computer technician. He leaves behind two sons, Brandon Bunker Cook, 45, and Aaron Touché Cook, 42. He is survived by his wife, brothers and sisters, many nieces and nephews, a daughter-in-law, and four grandchildren: Aidan, Noah, Yeshaiah, and Cai.

Jim had many skills and interests such as fishing, football, and model cars. He loved attending the Houston Rodeo and the Texas Renaissance Festival, and was a member of many clubs and societies over his lifetime. Genealogy was his passion and he served as a hospitality greeter at his church, St. John Vianney Catholic Church. He was happiest at the family cottage on Lake Michigan, Free ‘N Clear, where he spent many summers. He passed away on January 10, 2021, and will be dearly missed by many friends and family.
