Bumble dating app files to go public
Austin-based dating app Bumble is going public.
The company on Friday filed a registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for a proposed initial public offering of stock. The filing estimates the IPO would raise $100 million.
The app has more than 100 million registered users and functions similarly to other apps like Tinder where users swipe left or right on preferences. With Bumble, however, only women are allowed to initiate a conversation or contact.
