William “Bill” Little, 89, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. Bill was born December 14, 1931 on a farm in Sandusky, Ohio. Bill married the love of his life, Mary (Argast) Little in 1955 in Dayton, Ohio. In 1957 they moved to Sugar Land, Texas, a small company town. He spent his entire career with Sugar Land Industries and the Imperial Sugar Company. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfathe­r and great-grandfathe­r. Bill was privileged to serve on many boards and elected offices. He believed in leadership and community service. He contribute­d his time and talents to many organizati­ons. Bill lived by the phrase – “If you’re good to people, they will be good to you”. Bill was proud to serve on the first City Council of Sugar Land (1959-1961), serve as the second Mayor of the City of Sugar Land (1961-1965), a Trustee for the Fort Bend Independen­t School District (1966-1972), and Trustee of the George Foundation (1996-2006).

Bill is survived by daughters, Mary Cay Sunday, husband Burke, Suzanne Pugh, husband Bob, and son William “Bud” Little, wife Tracey; grandchild­ren Fred “Chad” Davis, wife KDee, Lindsey Sweatt, husband Rick, Megan Verkin, husband Stevan, Alex Little, wife Angelica, and Caitlin Little; and great-grandchild­ren, Harper Sweatt, Emersen Sweatt, and Rose Davis.

A funeral Mass will be held on January 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Theresa Catholic Church in Sugar Land. If you would like to join the service virtually via video call (zoom), please request a link from us at littleserv­iceinfo@gmail.com
