Firefighters rescue trapped father, daughter

Firefighters rescued and revived two people from a Katy home that went up in flames Wednesday night, officials said

The Cy-Fair Fire Department responded around 9:50 p.m. to a reported residential fire in the 21500 block of Wellsford Glen Drive, said Capt. Daniel Arizpe, the department's spokesman.

A woman sitting outside the home in a wheelchair told officials that her husband helped evacuate her but went back inside for their adult daughter and both remained trapped.

Firefighters located the father and daughter. Neither had a pulse or was breathing, Arizpe said, but first responders resuscitated them. The patients, who both suffered smoke inhalation, were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.

There was no update Thursday regarding their conditions.
