Lamar president to retire in June after 7 years
Lamar University President Kenneth Evans will retire effective June 30, after seven years leading the institution.
Evans made the announcement through a university statement.
“It has been a privilege and honor to join the faculty, staff and administration of Lamar University to collectively strive to advance LU and most importantly serve our students these past seven years,” Evans said. “I take with me fond memories of the people I have known and the work we have collaborated to complete.”
Evans led an overhaul of Lamar University during his tenure, with more construction occurring on campus than in the past 40 years.
