No. 9 Baylor women top TCU
WACO — NaLyssa Smith had 18 points with a career-high 16 rebounds, Moon Ursin scored 21 points, and No. 9 Baylor beat TCU 82-49 on Tuesday night, completing another regular-season series sweep against the in-state rival Horned Frogs.
The Lady Bears (11-2, 6-1 Big 12) have now handily won their two home games since a 75-71 loss to Iowa State on Jan. 16. That was their first game after a two-week pause because of COVID-19 issues and ended their 61-game home winning streak.
Lauren Heard had 14 points to lead TCU (7-7, 2-7), which shot 29.2 percent (19-of-65).

Dana Evans scored 20 points, including the Cardinals’ final 12 capped by two free throws with 6.5 seconds remaining, helping Louisville survive the visiting Hurricanes.
Louisville (15-0, 8-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) led throughout in winning its third consecutive game as the No. 1 women’s team but had to hold off a furious late rally by Miami (7-6, 4-6).

Jaden Shackelford scored 21 points to help the host Crimson Tide beat the Wildcats and complete their first regular-season two-game sweep over Kentucky since 1989.
After a back-and-forth second half, Davion Mintz’s 3-pointer put Kentucky up 54-52 with 4:52 remaining in the game. The Alabama defense then made stops on five straight possessions which led to a 10-0 Crimson Tide run that essentially put the game away.
The Crimson Tide (14-3, 9-0 Southeastern Conference) extended their winning streak to 10 games.
Kentucky (5-10, 4-4 SEC) was led in scoring by Mintz, Dontaie Allen and Olivier Sarr all with 12 points.

Jalen Crutcher scored 27 points, and Ibi Watson added 18 to lead the Flyers (9-4, 5-3 Atlantic-10) to a win over the host Billikens (7-2, 0-1). Saint Louis was playing its first game since Dec. 23 as the program suspended team activities due to a COVID-19 outbreak just before the team’s first scheduled conference game Dec. 30.

Yves Pons scored 13 points, and the Volunteers (11-3, 5-3 Southeastern Conference) overcame a miserable shooting night to beat the visiting Bulldogs (9-8, 4-5).
