Man killed, son hurt in shooting at apartment

A father died Friday after he and his 5-year-old son were shot at a Katy apartment by an unknown number of assailants who fled the scene on foot, authorities said.

Deputies responded shortly before 4 p.m. to the shooting in the 500 block of Westgreen Boulevard, said Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez. The child’s condition was stabilized, he added. He was shot in the arm.

The father, approximately 30, was shot multiple times.
