Michael Brooks Lee was born on the 25th of July 1946 in Houston. He passed away peacefully, at home, in the early morning of Thursday, the 28th of January 2021 in Houston, Texas. He was 74 years of age.

Michael graduated from South Houston High School in Pasadena, Texas. After graduation, he earned his BBA from The University of Houston in 1968. Michael then served his country in the United States Army as a Prisoner of War Interrogat­or assigned to the 501st Military Intelligen­ce Battalion. He was Honorably Discharged in May of 1970. Michael began his law career by earning his JD from University of Houston Law School in 1972. His legal career spanned nearly 50 years. He was loved and revered by clients and colleagues alike. In addition, Michael was passionate about his Christian faith, ALL things Texas history, Cougar sports and his beloved Houston Astros.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Minta Louise and Henry Ford Lee; and his brother, Steven Darden Lee. He is survived by his daughter, Robyn Lee Canterbury and her husband Embry; their children, Mary Rose, Camille, Emmy and August; his son, Andrew Michael Lee, and his daughter, Maryn; their mother, Mary DeLorenzo Lee; and his niece, Stacey Lee Miller, her husband Matthew and her son Ryan.

A memorial service and celebratio­n of life is to be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, the 5th of February, in the Sanctuary of Second Baptist Church, 6400 Woodway Drive in Houston, where Rev. John Card will officiate. Virtual attendance is available and may be accessed by visiting Mr. Lee’s online memorial tribute and selecting the “Join Livestream” icon in his service informatio­n box.
