Statewide sports legend James Leroy Dreyer dies at age 90 peacefully at his home in Brenham, surrounded by his family. He was born on February 9th, 1930. Coach Dreyer spent his life shaping Blinn College athletics as both the school’s athletic director (35 years) and head baseball coach (1959-1986). His resume includes five trips to the NJCAA World Series with the Blinn baseball program along with numerous Hall of Fame inductions. He is survived by his wife of 70 years June Whiddon Dreyer, daughters Janet Dreyer and Joan Dreyer Koonce (Phil).
