Regarding “Biden’s energy policy works for Texas,” (A16, Jan. 31): President Joe Biden is right to make the climate crisis a top priority. Our local and state elected officials should also embrace transition­ing away from fossil fuels in favor of renewable forms of energy like wind and solar. Across the country, many home owner associatio­ns are changing their deed restrictio­ns to accommodat­e residentia­l solar systems, including some HOAs here in Houston. Unfortunat­ely, a large number of them are still clinging to outdated restrictio­ns. If GM can transition to electric cars, our HOAs should be willing to accept the inevitable future of renewable energy. Mohammed Nasrullah, member, East
